Basic Info BioHer Professional Life:
Esme is the former head of Hufflepuff House and Herbology professor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in Scotland. She accepted Dumbledore's offer of a teaching career after spending six years working at the British Ministry of Magic in a low-level research position. The research position did not leave her as much time as she would have liked to spend on her own research interests and she believed that teaching Herbology at Hogwarts would offer that sort of free time. She was mistaken.
Through her contacts in the Herbology department at Durmstrang Institut, she has been able to secure a high-level research position at the German Ministry (Research and Development - Herbology Division). This position promises to leave her much more time to devote to her own interests.
Her Personal Life:
Obsessive about her research, as well as being a genius, Esme is often forgetful about things others consider common sense. She is a pureblood witch, but has little interest in politics, preferring plants to people, much of the time.
She blushes easily, though she is by no means a prude. She has had four lovers in her thirty-something years: Ryo Nanohana (her Ravenclaw boyfriend while she was a student at Hogwarts), Gerald Chater (her superior at the British Ministry), Lydia Anders (a coworker at the British Ministry), and, more recently, Minerva McGonagall (a sort of 'friends with benefits' relationship).
She dislikes wearing robes, as they tend to get in her way when she's working, so she wears skirtsuits and pantsuits to work. (Many of the skirtsuits include rather short skirts, as they were picked out by Lydia Anders - an ex-girlfriend.) During her off-hours, she prefers to wear denims and sloganed t-shirts.
She's 5'2" and curvy. She has red hair (with a few grey streaks), dark blue-green eyes, freckles, and pale skin.
